Blackboard Learn is a virtual learning environment and learning management system developed by Blackboard Inc. It is Web-based server software which features course management, customizable open architecture, and scalable design that allows integration with student information systems and authentication protocols.
I read an article about Blackboard which is a comprehensible study. According to article, Black Board promote collaboration, critical reflection, group work, and communication. Blackboard provides collaborative and user-friendly environment for teaching-learning in terms of communication, assessment, and over all information management system. Thus, constructivists call for conducive e-learning environments that represent Blackboard system that has the capacity to improve learning outcome. In conclusion, it appears that Blackboard is a useful LMS that promotes pedagogical gain and constructivist perspectives.
